The Italian side is willing to negotiate an agreement on labor migration and to agree the period of consultations, Italy’s’ Ambassador in Chisinau Valeria Biagiotti stated in a meeting with the secretaries of state of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection Nelea Rusu and Djulieta Popescu, IPN reports, with reference to the Ministry of Health.

Valeria Biagiotti informed about Italy’s proposal to negotiate an agreement of cooperation in healthcare, assuring the Moldovan side that the Italian state will offer full assistance in implementing common projects in the field.

“Given the large number of Moldovans who work on the territory of the Italian Republic and the necessity of establishing a framework of social guarantees, it is important to sign the Social Security Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Italian Republic and to negotiate a new agreement on labor migration,” said secretary of state Nelea Rusu.
