One of the key accomplishments at municipal level is the fact that important projects to develop the city are approved by a majority of votes in the Chisinau Municipal Council even if there is no coalition there. In a news conference on December 31, Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said a number of projects aimed at developing the infrastructure and at improving the services provided by the local public authorities are to be implemented in 2020. It is planned that the Chisinau City Hall will become a factory of high-quality services, IPN reports.
The mayor noted the municipality aims to extensively repair the streets 31 august and Ion Creangă next year. There will be executed works to design and repair the streets Mesager, Bucovinei, Transnistriei, Industrială, Bycului and to reconstruct the bridge between Ismail and Grigore Vieru and the bridge on Mihai Viteazul St. Among the plans for 2020 are the renovation and modernization of elevators, repair of fountains in the Park “La Izvor” and purchase of bio toilets and special equipment.
“We also aim to repair most of the underground passages in Chisinau by creating a fund for developing Chisinau to which companies from Moldova and the foreign partners could contribute. The one-stop office for issuing permissive documents in the building sector will be opened in a month and within half a year the process will be fully automated so as to exclude the involvement of private individuals from the process,” stated Ion Ceban.
