Health care providers obliged to publish costs covered with state funds

The providers of health care and pharmaceutical services will be obliged to publish on their official websites information about the distribution and spending of money allocated from the mandatory health insurance funds for providing health care and pharmaceutical services. The violation of the rules of ensuring transparency in the spending of the money coming from these funds will be penalized. This is stipulated by a bill that was given a first reading by Parliament, IPN reports.

The bill was drafted by a group of MPs of the PAS group of the ACUM Bloc. Under the bill, the information will be made public within 15 workdays. This will include the contracts for the provision of medical assistance, annexes to them and additional agreements, agreements on the release of drugs compensated with money from the mandatory health insurance funds and data about the payment of the sums compensated by the National Health Insurance Company the previous year.

If the rules of managing and ensuring the transparency of the financial resources coming from the mandatory health insurance funds are violated by the providers of health care and pharmaceutical services, the persons holding responsible posts will be fined up to 3,600 lei, while the legal entities – up to 4,500 lei.
