45.6% of respondents of the on-line opinion poll “Moldova 2006 – The Results of the Year” consider that 2006 was worse for Moldova than the previous year. The results of a similar poll carried out in 2005 showed that about 30% of the respondents considered the year more difficult than the previous year. At the same time, about 27% of the respondents qualified the past year as better than the previous one. One year ago their share was over 38%. About 44% of respondents think that 2006 was for the country’s population not as good as 2005, compared to ¼ of the answerers that think that the year was better. In 2005, about one third of respondents said that the respective year was more difficult than the previous one, while 33% - a better one. Over 52% of respondents say that last year the social-economic situation in Moldova worsened (compared to 33% last year), while almost one quarter of those questioned has the opinion that the situation improved (over 36% in 2005). The year 2006 has witnessed more chances for the worse, 45% of the interviewees consider (in the last survey 32.8%), while 16% share the opinion that there were changes for the better, against 32.5% in 2005. The survey was conducted on-line by the Independent Service of Sociology and Information “Opinia”. The poll has covered a sample of 1088 people, meaning participation of each 200-th Internet user in Moldova. As organisers state, the margin of error is of 3%.
