The number of tax inspections carried out at economic entities has continuously decreased, IPN reports, quoting the head of the State Main Tax Inspectorate Ion Prisacaru.

In a program on Radio Moldova station, Prisacaru said that the number of inspections at companies in 2013 came to 74,029, in 2014 – to 60,400, while in the first nine months of this year – to 40,156. “Thus, in a relatively short period of time, we managed to eliminate each fourth inspection,” he stated.

The amounts collected additionally into the budget as a result of inspections rose from 653.04 million lei in 2013 to 1.2 billion lei in 2014 and to 1.19 billion lei in the first nine months of this year.

Ion Prisacaru stated that as a result of explicative work done by the tax inspectors this year to convince tax payers to comply voluntarily, 4,098 natural and legal persons that carry out entrepreneurial activities legalized their business. These registered the business in the form of private company (77), limited liability company (97), peasant farmstead (110) or in other legal-organizational forms (188). A number of 3,507 persons bought the entrepreneur’s patent.

The head of the State Main Tax Inspectorate noted that they also achieved results in the fight against the illegal payment of salaries. “In this respect, we cooperate with the National House of Social Insurance and with representatives of employers and trade unions. Progress was made, but this will be much greater if we better inform the people so that they are aware of the consequences of the payment of salaries ‘in envelope’. This phenomenon wouldn’t have existed if not only the company managers, but also the persons applying for a job had rejected this practice. Work is done in this regard by placing announcements and posters, but this is probably not enough,” stated Prisacaru.
