Moldovan judoka Denis Vieru has won the Grand Prix in Zagreb after scoring four victories in the 66 kg weight class, IPN reports.
The 25-year-old athlete beat Finland’s Luukas Saha, Serbia’s Strahinja Buncic, Daniel Perez Roman of Spain and Abdula Abdulzhalilov of Russia.
The tournament’s prize money was US$100,000.
Pentru Vieru this year is to also compete in the Grand Slams of Paris and Baku. At the Tokyo Olympics, he ranked ninth.
