Communist municipal councillor sues colleague
The communist municipal councillor Nicolae Motoc says he will sue the councillor of “Moldova Noastra” Alliance, Oleg Cernei, for “slander” voiced at the last session of the Chisinau Municipal Council on February 1. Cernei said at the session that Motoc lobbied a company that intended to install billboards alongside the aqueduct, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Cernei, Motoc blackmails the employees of the Architecture Department to favour a company promoted by the communist councillor at the contest on the installation of the advertisements.
In retort, Motoc said that the statements of Cernei are “serious accusations”, therefore he is forced to protect his dignity and honour in court.
Further, Motoc explained the situation with the advertisement company. According to him, a company appealed to him half a year ago. The company’s representatives claimed that the City Hall and the Architecture Department violated its rights. The company was issued the authorisation that after exactly one month was cancelled, the councillor said.
Motoc says that he requested several times explanation from the Department but it avoided providing any information because another company was given the license to install advertisement on the aqueduct, although the first company has already invested money and as a consequence its image was damaged.
For his part, Oleg Cernei said that the speech of the communist councillor Motoc proved the fact that he lobbied the company.
Two days ago, interim mayor Veaceslav Iordan signed an order by means of which he cancelled the contest on the instalment of advertisement on the aqueduct.
