CMC to consider adapting 2009 municipal budget Thursday
The Chisinau councilors will consider modifying the municipal budget on Thursday, May 14. The request was made by the executive of the local administration. The officials in charge say that the monthly collections into the budget are much lower than projected as the budget is populist, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) will also approve a report on the fulfillment of the budget for 2008 and adapt the expenditure and spending estimates for the special funds for 2009.
The local councilors will also consider approving tariffs for using plots for burials for an unlimited period of time and taxes for maintaining the municipal cemeteries and privatizing the unfinished buildings.
The councilors will be asked to allocate money for the participation of the Chisinau Municipal Council in the implementation of the Romania-Ukraine-Moldova Joint Operational Program. Earlier, the CMC rejected a similar draft decision.
The Council will also examine the regulations concerning the representation of the municipality of Chisinau in commercial organizations, municipal companies and public institutions and the regulations concerning the granting of the right to retail alcoholic beverages. The agenda also includes a decision that lays down the rules of retailing tobacco products in the municipality of Chisinau and the selection of a contractor that will design and reconstruct the building of “Satiricus Ion Luca Caragiale” Theater.
455 draft decisions are on the agenda overall, including amendments to decisions made by the CMC earlier.
Recently, Gheorghe Morgoci, director general of the Chisinau Trolleybus Company, has told Info-Prim Neo that he will demand that the CMC raise the trolleybus fare from 1 leu to 1.5 lei. The issue was not included in the agenda, but it can be introduced by the vote of the simple majority of the councilors.
