Antena C’s management might be sued again
The staff of “Antena C” radio station will sue the station’s incumbent manager Veaceslav Satnic for paying the base pay only and not the average wages, as outlined in the legislation in case the employees are dismissed when an institution is reorganised.
Valeriu Munteanu, jurist at “Antena C”, told Info-Prim Neo that Satnic paid on Tuesday, for February, base pays of 500-600 lei, plus bonuses for 2-3 days, and journalists received an overall of up to one thousand lei each.
According to the cited source, journalist requested Satnic to abide by the legislation that obliges the employer to pay the dismissed employee the average salary for a three-month period. Otherwise, the staff reserves the right to sue the management, according to the provisions of the Labour Code. “We will also demand to be rehired, because the dismissal notice contains serious violations, being followed by even worse ones, such as the appointment of other persons”, Munteanu said.
According to him, the court will be also requested to examine the violation of the right to work of Antena C’s employees, as well as a claim for moral losses. The lawyer states that labour litigations are examined in a 30 day term, so that the court will not be able to delay the lawsuit.
Veaceslav Satnic told Info-Prim Neo that there is no problem related to the wages, because only a part of the wage has been paid, on the occasion of the International Women Day.
The Court of Appeal currently examines the request of over 30 employees working at the two stations to urgently suspend the procedure of selling the two institutions and annul the precursory normative documents; to cancel interim mayor’s orders regarding the appointment of new managers of the TV channel and radio station; to oblige CMC and interim mayor to re-establish the proper functioning conditions of the institutions; to oblige CMC and interim mayor to pay damages amounting to MLD 100 thousand for each claimant. The plaintiffs said they would invest this money in developing the two institutions.
