Alexandru Iacub was appointed by the Government as head of the Customs Service, after approving his resignation as state secretary at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
“Mr. Iacub’s tasks are to optimize and improve the interaction of the Customs Service with the business community, eliminate corruption, improve working conditions for the Customs Service employees, and ensure the digitization of operational processes at the Customs Service”, said Minister of Finance Victoria Belous.
Prior to his job at the Ministry, Alexandru Iacub served as senior consultant in the General Legal Directorate of Parliament’s Secretariat.
The Customs Service was left without a director after Iacub’s predecessor, Igor Talmazan, resigned in early April.
