The Supreme Court of Justice upholds the decision of the Central Court of Appeal, which confirmed the Central Electoral Commission’s decision not to register the “Victorie” Bloc in the electoral race for the parliamentary elections on September 28. Representatives of the bloc have accused of pressure and lack of judicial independence, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
“Our rights were denied without an analysis of the essence of the cause. Without arguments. Without a willingness to listen to our position. The court merely formally copied what the Court of Appeal had already said. This is not justice, but a mechanism for approving decisions dictated from above”, the representatives of the bloc mentioned in a post on social media. They announced that they will file a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights.<\/p>\n\n
The CEC rejected the registration of the “Victorie” Bloc on July 19, arguing that the formation would be the successor of the Shor party, declared unconstitutional. The law prohibits the resumption of activities of a banned party through other political forms.<\/p>\n\n
After the Supreme Court of Justice has ruled, the decision of the Central Election Commission remains definitive, which means that the bloc cannot participate in the elections nor officially support candidates.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
