While on a working visit to London, the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu, thanked the British authorities for their openness in finalizing this measure, which he said was &#8220;much awaited by Moldovan citizens living in the UK&#8221;, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"799\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Igor-Grosu.jpg\" alt=\"Photo source: The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova\" class=\"wp-image-75812\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Igor-Grosu.jpg 799w, https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Igor-Grosu-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Igor-Grosu-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Igor-Grosu-585x390.jpg 585w, https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Igor-Grosu-263x175.jpg 263w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 799px) 100vw, 799px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a meeting with the Speaker of the House of Commons, Lindsay Hoyle, Igor Grosu highlighted the significant contribution of the Moldovan diaspora to the cultural diversity and economic development of the United Kingdom, noting that London and other British cities host one of the largest communities of Moldovans.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two officials discussed strengthening Moldovan-British relations in several key areas. Igor Grosu expressed his gratitude for the constant support provided by the United Kingdom in areas such as good governance, combating disinformation, supporting free press, and strengthening cyber security.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The United Kingdom is also among the top 20 trading partners of our country, and the recent liberalization of tariffs, extended for another 5 years, has led to an increase in exports of apples, plums, cherries, and grapes&#8221;, stated Igor Grosu, as quoted in a legislative press release.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The visit of the Parliament&#8217;s President to the United Kingdom is taking place from June 29-30.
