\tGhennady Rosca, chief forecaster at the State Weather Service, has told IPN a code-amber extreme cold weather alert has been issued for January 30 and 31. On Tuesday, highs will range from -2 to -7\u00b0C and lows from -7 to -12 \u00b0C. On Wednesday and Thursday, highs will be down to -14\u00b0C and lows down to -24\u00b0C.<\/p>\n
\tToday, heavy snowfall has hit the country. On Tuesday the snowfall will begin to weaken, with scattered showers in parts of the country. The wind will blow from NE at speeds of 17-22 m\/s. Icy roads are also predicted.<\/p>\n
\tWith temperatures dropping, waterside and floating ice will appear. Ice will form on ponds, small rivers, and on patches of the rivers Nistru and Prut. People are advised against walking on the ice, which will remain not solid enough to be safe.<\/p>\n
