\tContacted by IPN, priest Victor Cerasau, of the Chisinau Church \u201cMeeting of God\u201d, said the White Week is a period of preparation for Lent, both spiritually and in terms of abstinence from meat. \u201cDuring this week the faithful can eat milk, cheese, eggs and fish. They do not fast on Wednesday and Friday, excluding in monasteries,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
\tOn Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, the Divine Service is held in cathedrals and monasteries. On Sunday, February 22, the Christians go to church to pray for God\u2019s forgiveness. The day is known as the Forgiveness Sunday.<\/p>\n
\tLent this year starts on February 23 and ends on April 12, when it is celebrated Easter.<\/p>\n
