\n\tSympathizers and supporters of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) on January 16 mounted a large protest where they demanded that early parliamentary elections should be called. The protesters marched on the streets of Chisinau in two columns that met in the square near the Parliament Building, where they said they are against the formation of a government and want Parliament to be dissolved, IPN reports.<\/p>\n
\tThe leader of the PSRM Igor Dodon said the latest events seriously worry the citizens. \u201cWe must remove the oligarchs and head for early elections. Only several steps more must be taken to free Moldova from oligarchs. We are very close to the dissolution of Parliament. Moldova\u2019s fate is decided now. We are categorically against the formation of a new government. We will not take part in the Parliament siting where they will try to vote in the Cabinet. The head of state must sign only one decree \u2013 the one by which Parliament will be dissolved,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
\tThe head of the Socialist parliamentary group Zinaida Grecheanyi said the current legislature elected on November 30, 2014 didn\u2019t manage to unite society and to bring prosperity. \u201cThat\u2019s why this Parliament must leave. The politicians should come before the people and the people should decide who will govern this country. Those who are now in power aim to only enrich themselves. We must not allow this to happen,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\tAccording to Ion Ceban, chairman of the Socialist group in the Chisinau Municipal Council, the rulers are \u2018like a tumor on Moldova\u2019s body\u2019. \u201cAn immediate \u2018operation\u2019 is needed and this is the early elections. If we do not remove them, they will destroy Moldova,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
\tThe Socialists announced that on January 18 they will go to the Constitutional Court to demand that the President\u2019s decree to nominate Pavel Filip for premiership should be annulled.<\/p>\n
\tSupporters of \u201cOur Party\u201d also gathered together in front of the Parliament Building to seek early elections. The people who protested in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau, mobilized by the Civic Platform \u201cDignity and Truth\u201d and the political project \u201cPlatform Dignity and Truth\u201d, also demanded early elections.<\/p>\n
