\n\tMoldova\u2019s request to review the export quotas up was received and is being examined. A response will be transmitted to the Moldovan authorities in the immediate period, European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmstrom stated in a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Iurie Leanca, who is in Brussels on a visit, IPN reports.<\/p>\n
\tAccording to the Government\u2019s press service, Iurie Leanca and Cecilia Malmstrom agreed the priorities for the immediate period. Among these is the obtaining of an authorization for exporting Moldovan products of animal origin to the European market. The sides highlighted the importance of observing the intellectual property rights and of increasing the number of national companies with export potential to the EU. Cecilia Malmstrom reiterated the EU\u2019s readiness to provide financial and technical support to achieve the objectives assumed by Moldova within the Free Trade Agreement.<\/p>\n
\tIn the meeting with Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, Iurie Leanca reiterated the necessity of stimulating the political and sector dialogue between Moldova and the European institutions. Johannes Hahn encouraged the official Chisinau to continue to do reforms, underlining that the EU will continue to support Moldova in its European integration efforts and in the actions aimed at developing democracy and the rule of law, for the people\u2019s benefit.<\/p>\n
\tIurie Leanca also met with the Vice President of the European Commission, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini. The European official said the EU is determined to continue to support Moldova. At the same time, the European institutions have high reform implementation expectations. There was underlined the necessity of making progress in fighting corruption and investigating the banking frauds.<\/p>\n
\tIn the meeting with European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Vytenis Andriukaitis, the interlocutors discussed the latest results achieved by Moldova in implementing the Association Agreement\u2019s provisions on food safety and public health. Iurie Leanca reiterated Moldova\u2019s commitment to make progress in taking the necessary sanitary and phytosanitary measures. He noted that the fulfillment of the requirements for obtaining the right to export products of animal origin to the EU market is a priority for the Moldovan authorities.<\/p>\n
