The funeral will take place starting at 10am on August 7, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research stated in an obituary signed by Minister Lilia Pogol\u0219a, IPN reports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA great personality who always pleaded for the spiritual and moral values that found refection in his essays and speeches. Bright light and eternal peace, Andrei Str\u00e2mbeanu!\u201d says the obituary.<\/p>\n<p>Andrei Str\u00e2mbeanu was born in F\u00e2nt\u00e2na Alb\u0103 village of B\u0103l\u021bi County, currently Edine\u021b district, on August 25, 1934.<\/p>\n<p>Among his most famous works are \u201cWhite Well\u201d (poetry, 1963), \u201cThrow Me into the Sky\u201d (children\u2019s stories 1965), \u201cThe Bride\u201d (stories, 1967), \u201cCounterpoint\u201d (anthology, 2004), \u201cPoems with Wormwood Taste (2015), etc.<\/p>\n<p>As author of poems, he cooperated with composers Mihai Dolgan, Constantin Rusnac, Eugen Doga, Valentin D\u00eenga etc. His prose was translated into Finish, French, Lithuanian, Armenian, Georgian, Estonian, Hebrew. His plays were put on at theaters in Moldova and Germany.<\/p>\n<p>He sat on Moldova\u2019s Parliament in 1998-2001.<\/p>\n<p>Andrei Str\u00e2mbeanu was awarded the medal \u201cMihai Eminescu\u201d in 1997, the Order of the Republic in 2011, the National Award of the Republic of Moldova and the Award \u201cI. L. Caragiale\u201d for dramaturgy of the Romanian Academy in 2008.
