Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi met Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Bra\u017ee in Riga. The two officials discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations, support for Moldova’s European path and common challenges related to security and resilience, IPN reports. <\/p>\n\n
“Latvia was among the first countries to recognize our independence. It remains a firm supporter of our European path”, said Mihai Popsoi, thanking for the support provided over more than 30 years of diplomatic relations. He also emphasized that Latvia’s experience in combating disinformation is very valuable for the Republic of Moldova. <\/p>\n\n
In her turn, Minister Baiba Bra\u017ee emphasized the importance of the Moldovan-Latvian partnership and the shared vision on geopolitical realities. “Moldova is an important partner for us. We share a common vision of history, sovereignty and a rules-based international system,” the Latvian head of diplomacy said. The minister also noted that both Latvia and Moldova feel the impact of Russia’s aggression. <\/p>\n\n
