The announcement was made by the head of the legislature, Ruslan Stefanciuk, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposal comes in the context where, on Monday, the Parliament approved the resignation of Prime Minister Iulia Sviridenko, which consequently led to the resignation of the entire Government. During a press conference on Wednesday, Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that, after several consultations, he considers Serhiy Koretsky to be the most prepared person to lead the executive in this critical period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ukrainian leader mentioned that Ukraine is preparing for a winter that is shaping up to be the most difficult so far, against the backdrop of ongoing Russian attacks on energy infrastructure and fuel depots. In this context, Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Serhiy Koretsky&#8217;s experience in managing major energy companies makes him the most prepared person to take over the leadership of the Government and ensure the country&#8217;s resilience at this critical moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Serhiy Koretsky built his career in the private sector, within a group that owned a network of gas stations. Subsequently, he founded a business, then took over the management of the nationalized companies Ukrnafta and Ukrtatnafta. From 2025, Koretsky leads the state company Naftogaz, the largest oil and gas company in Ukraine.
