The case of the vice president of the PAS Youth Organization, employed at the Ministry of Culture without a bachelor’s degree and remunerated with approximately 33 thousand lei per month, does not represent a legality issue, but a moral one. The statement was made by the deputy of the Party of Action and Solidarity, Igor Chiriac, who also called for tolerance, urging that the young man should not be “burned at the stake” in the public space, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The parliamentarian acknowledged that the level of salary granted to a young employee at the ministry is difficult to explain in relation to the incomes of other categories of public servants, however, he said that the public debate should not turn into a condemnation of the person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It’s hard to explain to a teacher or a cultural worker that a young person has a high salary. On the other hand, I wouldn’t want to expose this young person in a public discussion, to burn at the stake a child who has his whole life ahead. The young man in question was fired after these public discussions”, declared Igor Chiriac during the “Rezoomat” show on RealitateaTV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, the deputy says that the young man’s employment at the ministry did not occur in violation of the law, arguing that his work should be evaluated in light of the work he has done. “No one denies that this case is a matter of morality, not a matter of legality. This young man should be judged for what he has done and can do”, the parliamentarian specified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Igor Chiriac also dismissed the speculations that the young man’s remuneration was related to his political activity within the PAS. According to him, the salary was paid exclusively for the work performed within the Ministry of Culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
