The President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, maintains that the former employee of the state enterprise Moldatsa, Anastasia Taburceanu, has fully refunded the salary and allowances received during her activity within the company. According to him, all those who unjustifiably benefited from public resources must be held accountable and return the money, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
The statements were made in the context of the scandal involving the employment of Anastasia Taburceanu, the cousin of President Maia Sandu, in the position of press communicator at Moldatsa, for which she was remunerated with approximately 120 thousand lei per month.<\/p>\n\n
Igor Grosu, leader of the Action and Solidarity Party, pointed out that the European Union does not evaluate the Republic of Moldova based on the scandals in the public space, but on the authorities’ ability to respond, to sanction deviations and to correct the identified situations. According to him, the European partners’ confidence in the country’s European path remains firm.<\/p>\n\n
“These scandals, these incidents, are regrettable. But the EU evaluates the country primarily on the authorities’ ability to respond, to sanction, and to correct things”, Igor Grosu stated during the “Eu \u0219i Uniunea European\u0103” program on public television.<\/p>\n\n
The President of the Parliament added that such cases should serve as lessons, and those who have abused public resources must be sanctioned. “We must learn from these incidents. Those who have abused must be sanctioned, those who have benefited from certain resources must return them, as is the case with Anastasia Taburceanu, who returned to Moldatsa’s account all the resources she received from this institution.
