SA \u201cMoldovagaz\u201d announced that it will request, together with SA \u201cEnergocom\u201d and two more gas transportation companies, to switch over from cubic meters to kilowatt\/megawatt hour in the natural gas measurement process, IPN reports.<\/p>\n
The supplier said that such a practice is widespread in the EU member states and ensures more accurate metering of gas at border interconnection receipt points, on the wholesale market and in the gas distribution network.<\/p>\n
\u201cIts implementation in Moldova will eliminate eventual commercial discrepancies between the market participants, including the fiscal and customs ones. The new rules should start to be implemented on July 1 this year. At the same time, these will not require replacing the gas metering equipment (meters), while consumption in kilowatt hour will be calculated according to a special formula,\u201d \u201cMoldovagaz\u201d noted in a press release.<\/p>\n
The company also proposes applying the procedure for storing gas based not on daily tender contests, but on monthly contests through the European platform RBP starting with this March. \u201cMoldovagaz\u201d said such a move will improve the efficiency of its relations with SA \u201cEnergocom\u201d from which it now purchases natural gas.<\/p>\n
