The decision, approved during Wednesday&#8217;s meeting of the interim Government, eliminates the difference between the responsibilities exercised and the wage rights, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the measure will be applied during the period between the recall of the head of the diplomatic mission and the appointment of a new incumbent. During this interval, the diplomatic agent acting as charg\u00e9 d&#8217;affaires ad interim will benefit from an allowance equivalent to that of the head of the diplomatic mission in the respective state.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MAE specifies that, currently, diplomats who temporarily take over the leadership of a diplomatic mission exercise the duties and responsibilities of the head of mission, but do not benefit from the allowance related to the position. According to the authors of the project, this situation creates an imbalance between the volume of responsibilities assumed and the level of remuneration.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, the same provisions regarding administrative-financial activity that apply to the heads of diplomatic missions will be applied to the diplomat who ensures the interim. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentions that, in most cases, diplomatic missions have only three diplomats, so the person who ensures the interim will continue to carry out the duties of the base function.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The authorities specify that the change aims to ensure the continuity of diplomatic missions and eliminate differential treatment in the case of temporary exercise of leadership.
