The Chisinau Court announces that it offers all the necessary support to the investigation and reaffirms its zero tolerance policy towards corruption, following the searches carried out by the officers of the National Anti-Corruption Center at the headquarters of the court’s center. The actions took place in a case of influence trafficking, in which a lawyer and a court employee were detained, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n

“The court treats with utmost seriousness any suspicion of law infringement and reaffirms the zero tolerance policy towards corruption, as well as any behavior incompatible with the values of integrity, impartiality, and responsibility”, is stated in a press release issued by the institution.<\/p>\n\n

At the same time, the Chisinau Court clarifies that criminal proceedings do not affect the court’s activity, which operates as usual. Its representatives do not provide details about the case or the individuals involved, citing the confidentiality of the investigation and the presumption of innocence.<\/p>\n\n

The National Anti-Corruption Center\u00a0 announced the arrest<\/a> of a lawyer and an employee of the Chisinau District Court, Central Branch, who are suspected of influence peddling. According to investigators, the lawyer allegedly paid the court employee sums ranging from 4,500 to 6,000 euros per case, claiming that the employee had influence over certain judges and could secure rulings favorable to a business entity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
