If parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, four parties would enter the legislative body, shows a poll presented by the sociological research company IMAS. Of those questioned, 6.7% would not vote, while 15.5% don\u2019t know or didn\u2019t answer. Of the decided respondents, 39.1% would vote for the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS), while 30.1% would vote for the Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS). Another 9.5% of those surveyed would vote for Our Party, while 5.3% for the Revival Party. Other parties would not pass the election threshold of 5%.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Shor Party (which was declared unconstitutional, e.n.) wasn\u2019t written in the options presented to the respondents. This way, the PAS continues to hold the lead, being at a consistent distance from the BCS \u2013 30.4% (of the decided ones) and 23.5% (of the total), IMAS director general Doru Petru\u021bi stated in a news conference<\/a> hosted by IPN. He noted that the intention to vote for the Our Party has been confirmed for several months following the campaigns conducted by Renato Usatyi. But it is also a circulation of the voters who remained without the option to vote for the Shor Party, at least for now. This is probably the reason why the BCS no longer follows the downward trend and also gets a particular portion of the voting intention.<\/p>\n

If snap presidential elections were held, incumbent President Maia Sandu (27.8%) and ex-President Igor Dodon (16%) would reach the runoffs. The two are followed by the leader of Our Party Renato Usatyi (6%), the mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban (6%), ex-Premier Ion Chicu (5.9%), former Bashkan or Gagauzia Irina Vlah (4.9%) and the leader of the Party of Communists Vladimir Voronin (4.3%). Other politicians would gain less than 1% of the vote.<\/p>\n

As regards the foreign relations, Doru Petru\u021bi said that no major changes were witnessed and the developments here are slow. \u201cThe pro-European idea decreases slightly, while the union (with Romania, e.n.) to this type of question remains at 5%. 42% said they would rather want balanced orientation related to the policy concentering Russia versus the West,\u201d stated the IMAS director.<\/p>\n

If a referendum was held next Sunday, 54% of those polled would vote for Moldova\u2019s accession to the European Union, 29% would vote against, while the others would not take part, don\u2019t know, haven\u2019t decided or didn\u2019t answer.<\/p>\n

41% would vote for joining the Customs Union, while 40% would vote against. 38% would vote for the union with Romania, while 51% would vote against.<\/p>\n

The poll \u201cSociopolitical reality and the perception of the mass media, September 2023\u201d was commissioned by Bright Communications SRL (Realitatea Group). The survey covered a sample of 822 respondents. The data were collected during September 2-24, 2023 and the margin of sampling error is \u00b13.4%.<\/p>\n
