Our goal is to be a free, independent country and we will choose our own path, that is, to be part of the European family\u201d, said Andrei Eremia, vice president of the Force of War Veterans NGO, during a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rDUyl_hBFtg&amp;t=1768s\">press conference<\/a> on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Eremia called war veterans to demonstrate unity, highlighting their role in the early years of independent Moldova. He also warned people against \u201cmanipulation\u201d from \u201covernight turncoats\u201d that he believes are trying to sabotage the referendum.<\/p>\n<p>Iuri Tabac, member of the Cantemir branch, said that the veterans in his district are for European stability and that they see the country\u2019s future only in Europe. \u201cOn October 20, vote for the European path\u201d, urged Tabac.<\/p>\n<p>Oleg Romanciuc, member of the Nisporeni branch, called on all veterans \u201cto be cautious in what they want to do and to differentiate between what is bad and what is good.
