The most important news from the IPN feed<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Moldova-EU Summit: support for accession<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second Republic of Moldova\u2013European Union Summit took place in Brussels, where the accession process, reforms and security cooperation were discussed. The EU <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/ursula-von-der-leyen-the-eu-is-preparing-a-new-package-of-120-million-euros-for-the-security-of-moldova\/\">announced<\/a> new support of 120 million euros for the Republic of Moldova\u2019s security and the possibility of <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/the-european-union-prepared-to-disburse-another-528-million-euros-to-moldova-from-the-growth-plan\/\">accessing<\/a> an additional 528 million euros from the Growth Plan, contingent on reforms. President Maia Sandu <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/maia-sandu-in-brussels-moldova-is-ready-to-open-accession-negotiations-on-all-chapters\/\">stated<\/a> that the Republic of Moldova is ready to open negotiations on all chapters, with the process remaining merit-based.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Moldova, 36 years of sovereignty<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Republic of Moldova <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/moldova-36-years-of-sovereignty\/\">celebrated<\/a> Sovereignty Day, established to commemorate the adoption of the Declaration of Sovereignty on June 23, 1990, a document that paved the way for the country\u2019s independence. President Maia Sandu <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/maia-sandu-moldova-can-consolidate-its-sovereignty-by-joining-the-eu\/\">noted<\/a> that sovereignty, independence, and peace must be defended, emphasizing that accession to the European Union can strengthen the Republic of Moldova\u2019s security and democracy. For his part, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu emphasized that June 23 symbolizes the citizens\u2019 determination to decide their own future and the country\u2019s European path.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Investigations and resignations at Moldatsa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Public Property Agency <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/app-checks-the-salaries-at-moldatsa-and-in-the-case-of-unjustified-payments-they-will-demand-the-recovery-of-the-money\/\">ordered<\/a> an audit of the state-owned enterprise Moldatsa regarding compliance with legislation on employee compensation, following reports in the media about salaries and bonuses, stating that it will seek the recovery of any unjustified payments. In this context, the agency\u2019s spokesperson, Anastasia Taburceanu, <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/anastasia-taburceanu-has-resigned-from-moldatsa-and-announces-that-she-will-return-the-bonuses-received\/\">resigned<\/a> and is required to return the bonuses she received, subsequently, members of the Prime Minister\u2019s Control Body also <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/the-members-of-the-prime-ministers-control-corps-have-submitted-their-resignation\/\">resigned<\/a>, with Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu citing a loss of confidence.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Flyone forced to change its management<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Flyone Airlines could have a new owner or a new shareholder structure within the next three months, after the Council for the Examination of Investments of Importance to State Security<a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/the-authorities-refuse-to-approve-the-investments-of-the-company-flyone-and-request-a-change-of-ownership\/\"> ordered<\/a> the application of the change-of-control clause. The decision follows an investigation lasting nearly 11 months into the company\u2019s investments in a sector considered strategic, and the CEIISS has also refused to approve certain investments by the operator.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Alexandru Balan&#8217;s citizenship \u2013 revoked<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alexandru Balan, the former deputy director of the Information and Security Service, has been stripped of his Moldovan citizenship. President Maia Sandu <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/the-former-deputy-director-of-sis-alexandru-balan-has-lost-his-citizenship-of-the-republic-of-moldova\/\">signed<\/a> the decree revoking his citizenship approximately two months after he was convicted of attempting to disclose state secrets and was transferred to Belarus.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Military equipment, illegally exported to Russia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A company in the Republic of Moldova is under <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/illegal-export-of-dual-use-equipment-to-russia-investigated-by-sis-and-pccocs\/\">investigation<\/a> for allegedly illegally manufacturing and exporting electronic systems used to test Russian military aircraft engines to entities in the Russian Federation subject to international sanctions. Prosecutors from the PCCOCS and SIS officers conducted searches at the company\u2019s headquarters and at the residences of the individuals involved. According to investigators, equipment worth over 21 million lei was allegedly exported under the false designation of \u201cwaste recycling equipment\u201d to conceal its actual destination. The company in question is \u201cComelpro\u201d SRL, which is alleged to have<a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/details-about-the-company-that-allegedly-supplied-dual-use-equipment-to-the-russian-military-aviation\/\"> produced<\/a> systems compatible with the engines of Su-27 and Yak-130 military aircraft.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Constantinov, still wanted<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The former president of the People\u2019s Assembly of Gagauzia, Dmitri Constantinov, <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/dmitri-constantinov-is-still-being-sought-by-authorities-including-through-interpol\/\">remains<\/a> a wanted person, despite the May ruling by the Southern Court of Appeals that overturned a previous ruling to that effect. The General Police Inspectorate states that the measure remains in effect based on another court ruling issued in April. The decision comes after the appellate court found that the warrant had been issued before the sentence became final.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Two police officers killed in an accident in Sangerei<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two patrol officers <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/two-patrol-officers-seriously-injured-after-being-hit-by-a-car-in-the-sangerei-district\/\">died<\/a> after being struck by a car in the village of Grigorauca, Sangerei District, while they were issuing a traffic citation on the shoulder of the road, next to their patrol car with its emergency lights on. The driver involved stated that he had fallen asleep at the wheel before the collision. He was detained and subsequently <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/the-driver-who-fatally-hit-two-policemen-in-sangerei-placed-under-house-arrest\/\">placed<\/a> under house arrest, a measure that prosecutors have announced they will challenge. Meanwhile, the government has decided to <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/the-families-of-the-two-deceased-police-officers-in-sangerei-will-each-receive-one-million-lei\/\">allocate<\/a> 2 million lei from the reserve fund for the families of the two officers.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Farmers protest again<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Farmers took to the streets again to protest, <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/traffic-is-blocked-on-several-national-roads-due-to-farmers-protests\/\">blocking<\/a> several national roads, including access roads to some <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/access-to-the-ptf-cahul-temporarily-blocked-due-to-farmers-protests\/\">border<\/a> crossings with Romania. They <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/farmers-are-protesting-again-they-demand-the-amendment-of-the-fiscal-budgetary-policy-project-for-2027\/\">demanded<\/a> that the current VAT rate for agriculture be maintained, that direct payments per hectare be provided, and that the excise tax on diesel fuel be refunded. During the protests, a police officer was <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/igp-a-policeman-was-hit-by-a-tractor-at-the-farmers-protest-in-stefan-voda\/\">struck<\/a> by a tractor wheel in the Stefan Voda district. According to the General Inspectorate of Police (IGP), MP Sergiu Stefanco, a member of the \u201cDemocratia Acasa\u201d Party\u2019s parliamentary faction, was behind the wheel. After police intervened, traffic resumed. Following discussions with the authorities, including the Speaker of Parliament, the protesters announced a pause until Monday, when they will decide on their next steps.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Moldova reaffirms its support for Ukraine<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu attended the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference (URC2026) held in Gda\u0144sk, Poland, where he <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/alexandru-munteanu-moldova-will-contribute-to-the-reconstruction-of-ukraine-and-to-regional-stability\/\">reaffirmed<\/a> the Republic of Moldova\u2019s commitment to supporting Ukraine, including through the development of regional connectivity, the improvement of transportation routes and the strengthening of energy security. On the sidelines of the event, he met with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The energy alert has ended<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The state of alert in the energy sector, declared on April 25, has been <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/the-state-of-alert-in-the-energy-sector-has-ceased-cnmc-the-situation-remains-under-surveillance\/\">lifted<\/a> after the National Crisis Management Center determined that the risk indicators no longer warranted its extension. While the measure was in effect, authorities monitored the sector and managed risks related to energy supply and the operation of critical infrastructure.
