Electoral corruption files can be tracked on the anticorruption.crjm.org platform, launched on Wednesday by the Legal Resources Centre of Moldova. The platform brings together public information about the cases on the court dockets, judicial decisions and measures taken, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
The President of the Legal Resources Centre of Moldova, Ilie Chirtoaca, stated at the launch event that the platform includes all public cases of electoral corruption recorded up to June 16th. According to him, 67 files currently under review by the CRJM target about a hundred individuals, and the fines imposed exceed 2 million lei.<\/p>\n\n
Ilie Chirtoaca mentioned the small number of acquittals and the existence of only five cases of guilt admission, without situations where the investigated individuals cooperated with the investigators. He emphasized that the platform provides access to information about the evolution of the cases and contributes to increasing transparency regarding the way these causes are examined in court.<\/p>\n\n
Skye Christensen, the main technical advisor of UNDP Moldova, mentioned that the idea of the platform emerged in the context of the 2024 presidential elections, against the backdrop of the need to ensure greater accountability in cases of illegal political financing and electoral corruption. He emphasized that these files are among the most sensitive for the justice system and require both results and transparency.<\/p>\n\n
