The Electronic Governance Agency warns citizens about a new SMS fraud scheme, in which the identity of the EVO governmental platform is abusively used. According to the institution, the attackers send false messages about an alleged unauthorized connection and try to obtain personal data and access codes from users, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
AGE specifies that several citizens have received SMS messages informing them about an alleged access to their EVO account and are urged to call a phone number if they did not personally carry out this action. The institution emphasizes that these messages are not transmitted by authorities and represent an attempt at fraud.<\/p>\n\n
According to the agency, the attackers’ aim is to create panic and to make the person call a so-called support service. Subsequently, the victim is asked for authentication codes, passwords or other sensitive information under the pretext of solving a security issue.<\/p>\n\n
AGE states that access to the EVO portal and digital public services is exclusively through electronic signatures and the MPass government service. Authorities recommend citizens not to call the numbers indicated in such messages, not to disclose passwords, OTP codes or bank details.<\/p>\n\n
