The women’s national rugby 7 team of the Republic of Moldova has qualified for the semi-finals of the European Championship in Croatia, after defeating Georgia in the quarter-finals with a score of 14-5. The Tricolours will play against the Ukrainian team on Sunday for a place in the final, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n

The team prepared by Ion Cebotari concluded the group stage with two victories and one defeat. After the success against Romania, with a score of 21-10, and the failure against Georgia, with a score of 7-22, the Moldovan team overcame Montenegro with 17-5 in the last group match.<\/p>\n\n

Having qualified for the quarterfinals, the women’s team met Georgia again, managing this time to take their revenge and secure a victory with a score of 14-5, a result that ensured their presence among the top four teams of the competition.<\/p>\n\n

At the same time, in the men’s competition, the national team of the Republic of Moldova continues the fight to avoid the last place. After the defeats suffered against Denmark and Romania, the tricolors also lost in the last group match, being defeated by Monaco with a score of 0-29.<\/p>\n\n

Subsequently, in the ranking matches for places 9-12, the men’s team also lost the game against Norway, score 5-24. Thus, Moldova will compete for the 11th place against Malta.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
