According to the Japanese press, this is the sixth typhoon of the season to hit land in the town of Wakayama in the western part of the country. Government spokesperson, Minoru Kihara, confirmed that at least 15 people suffered minor injuries in Okinawa, where several homes were also damaged. The storm brought down numerous trees, caused flooding and landslides over a vast area, from Kyushu to the Kanto region.
