The “Together” social fund initiated by the so-called administration in Tiraspol is the result of a faulty administration of the Transnistrian region and represents “a political action to use the rhetoric from the Kremlin, manipulation, and propaganda.” The statement was made by the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Valeriu Chiveri, after the Government meeting, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
According to Valeriu Chiveri, the solutions proposed by the unrecognized structures on the left bank of the Dniester are “temporary and unsustainable”. “Our offer is valid, the gradual reintegration of the region,” added the official. The Deputy Prime Minister asserts that this process could create the necessary conditions for overcoming the current economic and social problems.<\/p>\n\n
Regarding the accusations of the so-called administration in Tiraspol about alleged “illegal taxes” applied to businesses in the region, Chiveri stated that these are economic agents registered in Moldova, operating in accordance with national legislation. He emphasized that the collected taxes are legal and that the support provided by the Government for social and medical services in the region significantly exceeds the amounts collected from taxes.<\/p>\n\n
The Deputy Prime Minister reminded that the law adopted in April establishes several stages for the harmonization of the fiscal space between the two banks of the Dniester. Among these are the creation of the convergence fund by August 1, the introduction of VAT and excise duties for certain categories of products and energy starting from January 1, 2027, as well as the completion of fiscal harmonization by 2030.<\/p>\n\n
The “Together” Fund was launched by the alleged authorities in Tiraspol on May 11. Through this, residents and the business environment are proposed to financially contribute to covering social expenses, such as pensions, allowances, and salaries. The initiative emerged against the backdrop of the continuous deterioration of the economic situation, budget cuts, and difficulties related to making payments.
