The former President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, was inaugurated as Prime Minister with the votes of 124 deputies. The new government in Sofia took the oath shortly after the vote in the National Assembly, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n

Radev resigned from his position as head of state in January this year to participate in the parliamentary elections on the lists of the Progressive Bulgaria party, which also won the election with over 44%. In the new legislature, the current prime minister’s party holds the majority with 131 seats out of a total of 240, which allowed him to form a single-color government.<\/p>\n\n

In a speech delivered after the confidence vote, the new prime minister outlined<\/a> the structure and priorities of the new government. Radev emphasized that he would cooperate with the opposition and urged lawmakers to focus on the quality of legislation rather than its quantity. He also called for parliamentary activity to be aligned with the people\u2019s expectations and promised to restore the rule of law by accelerating the process of dismantling what he called \u201cdeep oligarchic influence\u201d.<\/p>\n\n

The Prime Minister announced that on Monday he will submit a first bill regarding price control.
