The news division will be the most affected, bearing the brunt of the cuts across the entire organization, reports IPN citing the publication <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/media\/2026\/may\/02\/bbc-news-to-bear-deepest-cuts-amid-2000-planned-job-losses\">The Guardian<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Within the news division, layoffs will reach approximately 15%, a higher level than in other departments. This is explained by the fact that a large part of this division&#8217;s budget is allocated to employee salaries.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The staff reduction is part of a comprehensive savings plan of approximately 600 million pounds sterling. About 10% of the over 21,000 BBC employees will be affected by these measures.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The BBC management is also considering other cost-cutting measures, such as reorganizing programs and using cheaper production methods.
