The “Flower Bridge” Festival will be staged in Ungheni on April 26. At the same time, the works to build the bridge over the Prut, symbolically called the “Flower Bridge”, in memory of the historical event that happened 35 years ago, will begin, IPN reports.<\/p>\n\n
According to the Secretary of State of the Romanian Ministry of Transport Irinel Ionel Scrio\u0219teanu, the purpose of this festival is to remember and relive the emotions of the moment of 1990, when Romanians from both banks of the Prut River threw flowers on its water, forming a bridge of flowers as a sign of brotherhood.<\/p>\n\n
The festival will start at 11:00 a.m. and will last until 09:00 p.m., with concerts by renowned artists from both banks of the Prut, such as \u201cLupii lui Calancea\u201d, Valy Boghean Band, Antonia, Osoianu Sisters, Cristi Aldea Teodorovici, \u201cFluieras\u201d Ensemble, Adriana Ochisanu, Cornelia Stefanet, \u201cDoina Ilfov\u201d Ensemble.<\/p>\n\n
There will also be an air show and skydiving demonstrations organized by Romania’s \u201cAeroclub\u201d and also traditional craft workshops, a gastronomic area, a photographic exhibition and creative workshops for children.<\/p>\n\n
At the beginning of this month, Romania issued the necessary authorization for the construction of the first road bridge at highway level over the Prut, the Flower Bridge over the Prut in Ungheni, Golaiesti \u2013 Zagarancea, after about 60 years since the last bridge was built.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
