The new regulation of the Parliament provides stricter restrictions for political turncoats. Thus, deputies who leave a faction will only be able to operate as unaffiliated, without the possibility of creating new factions. According to the PAS deputy, Vasile Gradinaru, these measures are necessary to ensure the stability and fairness of legislative activity, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
Vasile Gradinaru explained that deputies elected on the lists of a party must respect their political commitment until the end of their term. “If you came with a party, it means you have to go with this party until the end. If you’re disappointed or it no longer represents you, there’s no problem, you’ll be an unaffiliated deputy and continue your activity. But you can’t form a new faction under the name of another party”, declared Vasile Gradinaru during the “Rezoomat” show on RealitateaTV.<\/p>\n\n
The parliamentarian explained that there will be the possibility of creating distinct factions, only for parties, constituent parts of political blocs. “If you were part of a bloc, you have every right to create a faction within the limit of the party that is a constituent part of this bloc. No one limits you, but we cannot tolerate that the turncoats lead things in Parliament”, the deputy further said.<\/p>\n\n
He dismissed the speculations that the new provisions would target the internal situation of the PAS faction, including possible splits. “Even 5 years ago, we were predicted that the faction would break up and Spinu would take 10 deputies.
