The management of the Moldova Railway has begun paying salaries for the month of March, however, some employees are still technically unemployed. This is stated by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Mircea Pascaluta. According to the official, historical wage arrears have been gradually eliminated, and the company is trying to overcome financial difficulties, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
“The wage debts that CFM has are no longer from November. The salaries for March have also been paid. Our colleagues are making efforts to get out of this financial impasse, to ensure that our income covers expenses. There are CFM employees who are on technical unemployment, but this is a necessity to meet the current operational requirements,” declared Mircea Pascaluta during the “Common Objective” show on TVR Moldova.<\/p>\n\n
The Secretary of State emphasized that the company’s activity continues, and the freight transport segment is experiencing positive developments. “The Railways have not stopped, they transport goods, even bringing increases in the goods segment. In March, CFM has over 52 million lei, which are the company’s revenues. The salary expenses are 24 million lei, compared to previous years when they were 45 million lei,” said Mircea Pascaluta.<\/p>\n\n
The official explained that the railway sector reform aims at restructuring the company according to the European model and involves separating the railway infrastructure from the transport segment. “Thus, the railway infrastructure will be operated by the state, and the operational segment, which deals with passengers or freight, will be separate,” said the State Secretary of the MIDR.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
