The decision was motivated by President Javier Milei and his team in response to profound differences with WHO during the COVID-19 pandemic, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The measure has sparked criticism from local experts, who considered the withdrawal a health aberration, while the Government argued that the decision provides more flexibility and sovereignty in implementing national health policies.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Argentine executive has announced that it will continue to promote international cooperation in the field of health, through bilateral and regional agreements, while at the same time protecting the sovereignty of internal decisions.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The United States also officially <a href=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/the-usa-has-withdrawn-from-the-who-with-debts-of-260-million-dollars\/\">withdrew<\/a> from the WHO in January, one year after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to that effect, citing undue political influence and poor management of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Argentina has officially withdrawn from the World Health Organization, a year after the notification made by Buenos Aires.
