The Section for Combating Environmental Crimes took notice on its own on Monday, March 16, based on official information regarding the declaration of an environmental alert in the Nistru basin, the Prosecutor’s Office specified.<\/p>\n\n

The Prosecution emphasizes that the right to a healthy environment is guaranteed by the Constitution, and the legislation prohibits the discharge of petroleum products or other pollutants into surface waters. The institution assures that it is taking the necessary measures for a complete and objective investigation of the case.<\/p>\n\n

On Monday, Promo-LEX filed a complaint<\/a> with the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office, requesting the initiation of a criminal investigation into water pollution and ecocide.
