The country&#8217;s candidacy was promoted through an event organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, IPN reports.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event was attended by members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Chisinau, as well as representatives of UN Tourism member states. These representatives will decide in June, in Baku, Azerbaijan, on the five seats allocated to the European group on the Executive Council.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Representatives from the leadership of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented Moldova\u2019s candidacy, highlighting the priorities of the mandate and the specific expertise the country can contribute as a member.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe election of the Republic of Moldova to the Executive Council would represent a strategic opportunity, offering significant benefits such as enhanced international visibility, access to resources and strategic support, and the advancement of sustainable tourism development,\u201d stated the Ministry of Culture.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UN Tourism is the United Nations\u2019 specialized agency with a mission to promote responsible, sustainable, and universally accessible tourism.
