The first months were more difficult, but the growth rate gradually accelerated in the second half of the year, especially in the fourth quarter. The preliminary data was presented by the National Bureau of Statistics, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to BNS, in the first quarter, the gross domestic product fell by 1.3% compared to the same period in 2024. Subsequently, the situation improved: in the second quarter the economy grew by 1.1%, and in the third, the increase reached 5.1%.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Towards the end of the year, the economy continued to recover. In the last three months of 2025, the GDP was 3.6% higher compared to the same period in 2024.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The greatest contribution to economic growth was made by the information and communication sector, which contributed 2.1% to the GDP growth and recorded an increase in added value of 33.6%.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Positive results have also been reported in agriculture, forestry and fishing, where activity has increased by 23%, contributing 1.3% to the economy&#8217;s advancement. The manufacturing industry generated 14.2% of the added value and a contribution of 1.1% to the GDP.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The growth rate of Moldova&#8217;s economy in the fourth quarter of 2025 was higher than in many countries in the region. The increase of 3.6% surpassed the level recorded in Turkey (3.4%), Bulgaria (3.1%), Lithuania (3.1%), Ukraine (3.0%), Latvia (2.9%), and the Czech Republic (2.3%).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The economy of the Republic of Moldova recorded a growth of 2.4% last year.
