The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s investments in energy projects in the Republic of Moldova currently exceed 518 million euros. Ongoing energy projects, as well as planned investments, were discussed during a meeting between the Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, and the EBRD Vice President, Matteo Patrone, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n

“EBRD is one of the most important partners of the Republic of Moldova in modernizing the energy sector,” declared Dorin Junghietu.<\/p>\n\n

One of the projects discussed is the Balti-Suceava electrical interconnection (400 kV), with a total budget of 77 million euros. This includes the construction of a high-voltage overhead line and the modernization of several electrical stations in the Republic of Moldova.<\/p>\n\n

“The projects that we implement together strengthen the resilience of the energy system, accelerate integration into the European energy market, and support the transition to a modern, efficient, and sustainable energy system,” declared Matteo Patrone.<\/p>\n\n

The Ministry of Energy notes that, within the framework of cooperation, the financing mechanism for the security of natural gas supply is also implemented. The tool has allowed the acquisition of 96% of the gas needed for the right bank of the Republic of Moldova in the cold season 2025-2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
