“We encourage producers, retailers, and consumers to report any suspicious behavior so that we can intervene where the law allows,” the institution stated in response to reports of rising pork prices.<\/p>\n\n

The media has reported that in recent days, pork prices have increased by 15-25 lei per kilogram, with the highest prices recorded at markets. Previously, the price per kilogram was around 80 lei.<\/p>\n\n

Retailers claim that prices have also risen at the producer level, citing African swine fever and the upcoming Easter holidays as key factors driving the increase.<\/p>\n\n
