{"id":267701,"date":"2026-02-08T11:11:24","date_gmt":"2026-02-08T09:11:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipn.md\/reserve-assets-on-a-downward-trend-loss-of-23-5-million-euros-in-january\/"},"modified":"2026-02-08T20:20:31","modified_gmt":"2026-02-08T18:20:31","slug":"reserve-assets-on-a-downward-trend-loss-of-23-5-million-euros-in-january","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/reserve-assets-on-a-downward-trend-loss-of-23-5-million-euros-in-january\/","title":{"rendered":"Reserve assets on a downward trend: loss of 23.5 million euros in January"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The official reserve assets of the Republic of Moldova amounted to 5 billion euros at the end of January, being 23.5 million euros less compared to December 31, 2025, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the data from the National Bank of Moldova, the decrease in assets was primarily due to the depreciation of the exchange rates of the currencies that make up the foreign exchange reserves in relation to the euro, which led to a decrease of about 30 million euros.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Payments related to the service of the external public debt contributed to the reduction of reserve assets by 15.7 million euros, and the revaluation of securities held in the investment portfolio had a negative impact of 3.3 million euros.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, throughout the month of January, reserve assets increased by 12.4 million euros due to revenues from the management of foreign exchange reserves.
