The final decision on the Olympic medal of the Moldovan weightlifter Marin Robu will be pronounced by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland, on February 20, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
According to the President of the Moldovan Weightlifting Federation, Antonio Conflitti, the announcement of the decision has already been postponed four times, and the national forum was officially informed through a letter from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) regarding the date of the final decision pronouncement.<\/p>\n\n
The case refers to the result of the weightlifting test at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where Marin Robu ranked fourth, being surpassed by the Italian Antonino Pizzolato. After the competition, the Moldovan Weightlifting Federation contested the referees’ decision, arguing that the Italian’s lift was incorrectly validated. The dispute reached the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS), and the trial took place last September, in Lausanne.<\/p>\n\n
