Expert Sergiu Tofilat requests the convening of a public meeting of the Parliamentary Committee for Economy, Budget, and Finance, where the leadership of the National Agency for Energy Regulation should be heard. He accuses ANRE of selectively applying the law and covering up unjustified expenses of millions of lei at Chisinau-Gaz. According to him, the institution did not notify the legal authorities about the irregularities.<\/p>\n\n

During a press conference<\/a> at IPN, the energy expert stated that the situation represents a systemic issue, in which certain officials from ANRE do not notify the General Prosecutor’s Office about the violations found at Chisinau-Gaz. According to him, the scheme would also involve some officials from the Information and Security Service, which is why the expert has submitted a request to the Presidency, asking for the hearing of the targeted SIS employees.<\/p>\n\n

Sergiu Tofilat stated that, in 2020 and 2024, ANRE identified unjustified expenses of nearly 68 million lei at Chisinau-Gaz, but the materials related to these findings were not forwarded to the criminal investigation bodies, and the public was not informed.<\/p>\n\n

The expert requests that, during parliamentary hearings, the reasons why, in the case of irregularities found at Chisinau-Gaz, ANRE would violate the provisions of the law on state control and would not notify the criminal prosecution bodies, while in similar situations involving other operators, the agency informs the General Prosecutor’s Office, be clarified.<\/p>\n\n

At the same time, the expert aims for the meeting to identify those in the leadership of ANRE who would have suggested that the criminal investigation bodies should not be notified in the case of irregularities found at Chisinau-Gaz.<\/p>\n\n
