{"id":218975,"date":"2025-12-23T11:09:41","date_gmt":"2025-12-23T09:09:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipn.md\/the-info-live-foundation-has-successfully-implemented-the-project-to-support-the-mass-media\/"},"modified":"2025-12-23T12:31:52","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T10:31:52","slug":"the-info-live-foundation-has-successfully-implemented-the-project-to-support-the-mass-media","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipn.md\/en\/the-info-live-foundation-has-successfully-implemented-the-project-to-support-the-mass-media\/","title":{"rendered":"The INFO LIVE Foundation has successfully implemented the project to support the mass media"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Press release<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The INFO LIVE Foundation successfully implemented the project &#8220;Supporting the media and strengthening the democratic development of the Republic of Moldova after the 2025 parliamentary elections&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Chisinau<\/strong>, Republic of Moldova \u2014 Between <strong>October 15 and December 31, 2025, the INFO LIVE Foundation<\/strong> successfully implemented the project &#8220;Media advocacy and strengthening the democratic development of the Republic of Moldova after the 2025 parliamentary elections&#8221;, an initiative dedicated to supporting independent media and strengthening democratic resilience in the post-electoral context.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project was structured in <strong>two complementary components<\/strong>, designed to respond to the challenges faced by the media sector and democratic society in the Republic of Moldova. The first component aimed at organizing an <strong>advocacy visit to the European Union institutions in Brussels<\/strong>, with the aim of supporting independent media institutions, both at national and regional levels. The visit aimed to promote a strategic approach to supporting the media, focused on <strong>strengthening economic sustainability<\/strong>, the continuous development of editorial offices and increasing local media production capacities. The second component consisted of <strong>the participation of a group of representatives of NGOs and media from the Republic of Moldova<\/strong> in the international roundtable <em>&#8220;After the Vote: Lessons Learned from Electoral Security and Energy Independence in Strengthening Moldova&#8217;s Sovereignty&#8221;<\/em>, held in <strong>Washington, D.C<\/strong>., as well as in organizing several related thematic meetings.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/infolive-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-218962\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/infolive-1-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/infolive-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/infolive-1-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/infolive-1-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/infolive-1-1920x1440.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/infolive-1-1170x878.jpg 1170w, https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/infolive-1-585x439.jpg 585w, https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/infolive-1.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The context of the project implementation was marked by the intense electoral course of the Republic of Moldova in the last three years, a period in which the country went through <strong>three major electoral cycles<\/strong>, with a significant impact on the strategic direction of European integration. Obtaining the status of a candidate state to the European Union has strengthened public optimism, but the media sector continues to face <strong>major structural challenges<\/strong>, such as the decline of the advertising market, regulations lacking strategic vision, the dominant presence of Russian televisions in the audiovisual space and the use of the online environment for propaganda and disinformation by actors hostile to the constitutional order.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the advocacy visit to Brussels, the INFO LIVE Foundation collaborated with the <strong>Mission of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union<\/strong> to organize meetings with European officials. The Moldovan delegation brought together representatives of national media institutions in Chisinau, as well as regional media from the north and south of the country, including from the <strong>Gagauz Autonomous Region<\/strong>. The discussions addressed key topics such as the activity of the media during the electoral campaign, regulations on election coverage, post-electoral conclusions, the impact of media sources from the Russian Federation, the intensification of propaganda and disinformation, the need to review economic regulations in the media field to eliminate monopolies and create a fair competitive market, as well as the reorientation of donor support towards sustainability and the development of national media production.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"543\" src=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/infolive-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-218965\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/infolive-2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/infolive-2-300x204.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/infolive-2-768x521.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ipn.md\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/infolive-2-585x397.jpg 585w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second component of the project, held in Washington, D.C., included the participation of Moldovan representatives in the roundtable <em>\u201cAfter the Vote: Lessons Learned from Electoral Security and Energy Independence in Strengthening Moldova\u2019s Sovereignty\u201d<\/em>, an event that brought together the <strong>Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the United States<\/strong>, members of the US Congressional staff, Moldovan experts and representatives of the <strong>German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF)<\/strong> leadership.
