The deputies of the parliamentary faction of the Political Party ‘Partidul Nostru’ are initiating a bill to cancel the 8% VAT on natural gas supplied to domestic consumers. According to them, this measure could save citizens over 400 million lei per year, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
Deputy Constantin Cuiumju specified, at a briefing, that the purpose of the initiative is to reduce the burden of gas bills. Accordingly, the elimination of VAT would allow for a reduction in tariffs without the need for applications or additional bureaucracy.<\/p>\n\n
The estimates presented by deputies show that, for an annual household consumption of up to 330 million cubic meters, the reduction of VAT would decrease the cost by approximately 1.24 lei per cubic meter, which, in total, brings savings of over 400 million lei for the population.<\/p>\n\n
Representatives of the Political Party “Partidul Nostru” emphasize that currently VAT is not applied to electricity, heat and water, and consider it logical to extend the same tax regime to natural gas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
