The capacities and needs of the Republic of Moldova in the field of cancer control will be assessed within the framework of the imPACT mission – an initiative launched on Monday in Chisinau, with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO) and other international partners, reports IPN.<\/p>\n\n
The importance of this mission for the development of an integrated and evidence-based vision in cancer control was emphasized by the Minister of Health, Emil Ceban, who mentioned that this marks a new stage for the oncology system in the country.<\/p>\n\n
“It is a stage where decisions are no longer made in fragments, but based on a vision aligned with the highest international standards. Through this mission, we aim to look with lucidity and responsibility at what we have and what we lack in cancer control in the Republic of Moldova,” said Emil Ceban, quoted in a statement from the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n\n
The imPACT mission, carried out with the participation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), aims to conduct a comprehensive assessment that provides a realistic picture of national level oncology diagnostic and treatment services.<\/p>\n\n
Throughout the mission, international experts will visit medical institutions, analyze service and data flows, and the conclusions drawn will form the basis for the development of the National Cancer Control Program 2026\u20132030.<\/p>\n\n
Cancer remains one of the most serious public health challenges in the Republic of Moldova, affecting thousands of people annually. The government has declared cancer control a national priority, focusing on modernizing the infrastructure of the Oncology Institute, improving diagnostic and treatment technologies, as well as developing the professional skills of specialists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
