The document highlights the decline in the birth rate, the increase in the number of abortions among teenagers, and the medical system&#8217;s dependence on cooperation with clinics outside the region, according to IPN&#8217;s correspondent on the left bank of the Nistru River.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Between January and September, 1,441 children were born in the Transnistrian region \u2013 fewer than in the previous year. Almost half of the newborns were born in Tiraspol, where the birth rate remains the highest. In the Camenca district, only 40 newborns were registered during the same period \u2013 the lowest number in the region.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The number of abortions has decreased overall, but among girls aged 15 to 17, it has increased. The leader of the Tiraspol administration said that the situation requires constant preventive work with young people.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In terms of mortality, differences persist between cities and districts: in Tiraspol, the indicators are the lowest, and in the Camenca district, they are the highest. Among people of working age, the majority of those who died were men. The report mentions the causes: heart disease, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and a sedentary lifestyle. Infant mortality has decreased from 30 to 11 cases.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most common diseases are those of the respiratory system. Among infections, there are 82 new cases of HIV, 10 diagnoses of AIDS, and 136 cases of tuberculosis, of which 64% are open cases. The most difficult epidemiological situation remains in the Slobozia district.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2017, more than 5,500 people have received treatment outside the region, most often in clinics in Chisinau, with which hospitals in Tiraspol have concluded agreements. Patients with serious cases are also sent to medical centers in Russia. In the first nine months of the year, 645 people, including 115 children, were treated abroad.
